Connect Vultr

Vultr has the widest spread of regions of the six providers DotDeployer supports — 30+ locations across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. Cloud Compute instances start at $5/month for 1 vCPU / 1 GB RAM / 25 GB SSD.

What you need: a Vultr account and an API key with read/write access, from Account → API.

Steps:

  1. In the Vultr customer portal, go to Account → API and generate an API key.
  2. In DotDeployer, go to Settings → Providers, choose Vultr, and paste the key in. It’s encrypted before it’s stored.
  3. From Servers, click “Create server,” pick Vultr, and choose a size and region from Vultr’s live list.
  4. Add your first site from a GitHub repo — DotDeployer provisions the instance and deploys it.

Billing: the instance is created in your own Vultr account and billed to you directly.

Key scope: the key can only do what DotDeployer needs to provision and manage instances. It’s encrypted at rest, and you can revoke it from Vultr’s dashboard at any time.

Which product: DotDeployer uses Vultr’s Cloud Compute line (the general-purpose vc2 instances), not Bare Metal or the GPU/Kubernetes products — more than a single ASP.NET Core site needs.

Once connected, Vultr behaves exactly like every other provider in DotDeployer: the same Servers table, the same site tabs, the same deploy and rollback flow.
